Senior Director Portfolio Management, Strategy and OperationsJob IntroductionThis is a US remote role, with a preference for candidates based in the Boston area. Invetx, a division of Dechra, is a veterinary biotechnology company focused on developing protein-based therapeutics for chronic conditions in companion animals, with an emphasis on monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). The role holder will lead business operations, financial planning and reporting and portfolio management of Invetx in alignment with the overall corporate strategy and goals of Dechra.
Role ResponsibilityPlan and execute the Invetx project portfolio and strategiesOversee project planning and execution including timelines and financial planningConduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategiesDevelop strategic scenarios for individual programs and the overall portfolio to facilitate decision making and risk managementManage the Invetx budget, project budgets and reporting in collaboration with FinancePlan internal and external resource requirements in collaboration with HRTrack milestones and KPIsWork in close collaboration with the President of Invetx, the Invetx Leadership Team as well as the Board, and the scientific and executive committees of DechraPartner with senior leaders across Dechra to define and optimize processes for efficient project and portfolio managementCoordinate internal as well as 3rd party partnerships and collaborationsThe Ideal CandidateScience Degree (BSc, DVM or equivalent) or other relevant degrees10+ years of experience in relevant roles (e.g. R&D leadership roles, Portfolio Management, Business Strategy, Operational Management) within pharma, biotech and/or Animal Health industriesExtensive experience in portfolio management and project planning in a relevant settingProven track record leading finance, strategy and value creation in a pharmaceutical business and/or R&D organisationExperience in coordinating internal and external resources and collaborationsExcellent cross-functional, cross-cultural collaboration and communication skillsPassionate about Animal Health and getting new and innovative veterinary medicines to market.Travel to potential partner companies, Invetx office (Boston, MA), investor and industry meetings and events, and other locations as requiredDomestic (US) and international travel as required, variable - 25-50%About the CompanyAs a people first values-based culture, we provide free weekly wellness sessions focused on our employee's physical and mental wellbeing, and flexible work arrangements.
