JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will report in-office and is located in Columbus, OH.
Position Title: Manager Energy Marketing
Reports To: Vice President Energy Marketing
FLSA Status: Exempt
Basic Functions: Responsible for managing and optimizing processes and procedures related to the energy control center power supply forecasting, planning, and hedging strategies; AMP Member power supply budgets; and AMP Projects.
Essential Functions:
1. Develop and manage processes to evaluate power supply system options and plans for AMP and AMP members by doing the following:
Reviewing power supply load forecasts and integrated resource planning;
Utilizing capacity/energy/REC hedging strategies;
Evaluating strategies for potential power supply purchase and sale opportunities as to market conditions and forward prices;
Ensuring all options are operationally executable and compliant related to Risk Management Policy and Procedures, and credit exposure monitoring.
2. Keeps AMP management educated on power supply options that are being considered so that management is aware of all activity and can ensure that AMP Standard Operating Policies are adhered to.
3. Assist with the evaluation of power supply resource options, including generation projects and purchase power agreements.
4. Participate in daily communication with The Energy Authority (TEA), associated with
a. Natural Gas Scheduling and Procurement
b. Risk Management Activities
c. Generation Offers
5. Develop key performance indicators to track power supply and hedging strategies for AMP and members.
6. Coordinate outage planning, peak shaving, and resource dispatching with AMP Generation Operations and Planning groups.
7. Oversees transmission procurement on OASIS, NERC Tagging, ICE- InterContinental Exchange, transaction configuration into trade capture systems of record, and trade confirmation processing.
8. Supervises and manage the Energy Control Center staff (Day-Ahead and Hourly). Trains Power Dispatchers and staff in the use of the Energy Control Center Procedures and information systems.
9. Responsible for the supervision and oversight of the sales/purchases of Renewable Energy Credit (RECs) for AMP-owned or member-owned resources. Ensures that the authorization and compliance with the risk control procedures are documented.

10. Stays abreast of PJM and MISO rules and impacts on members and AMP projects.
11. Works in conjunction with Planning/Finance/Accounting in the review of power supply invoices to ensure quality.
12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:
1. A four-year degree in one of the following: engineering, finance or business-related, or other practice areas relevant to the electric utility industry.
2. Experience (10+ years) within areas of the electric utility industry is preferred.
3. Must demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of electric utility standards, operations, markets, and generation.
4. Must be willing to travel.
5. Must be able to work on their own and set their priorities based on the need to perform basic and essential functions.
6. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Must be PJM Generation Operator certified.
8. Must be available to provide support in a 24-hour operating environment.
9. Must successfully complete FERC Standards of Conduct compliance training within 30 days of employment.
