Take on an important role as a Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse Supervisor with our Venice Family Clinic's Homeless Program and make a difference in the community. In this position you will work with patients who are experiencing homelessness and at risk populations, and will work with our street medicine team in our mobile medical unit as well as our other clinical sites to assist the provider staff in most aspects of health care to our patients. The Sr. LVN Supervisor will be responsible for:
Providing guidance and support to the medical assistant staff.
Oversight of Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) performing a variety of patient care activities, such as administering injections and medications, monitoring patients' blood pressure, changing bandages, inserting catheters, and assisting with bathing or dressing.
Helping with any problem solving needs that arise for clinic operations.
Performing supervisory duties such as time sheet corrections/approvals, scheduling and approving time off, performance evaluations, and interviewing/training staff.
This role will also perform other duties within scope of practice as assigned.
Note, this position is subject to the California DMV's "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
Salary Range: $36.49 - $76.05 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
Two years of work experience in providing primary care in pediatric setting.
Experience working with homeless populations and at risk populations.
California State Licensed Vocational Nurse (IV certified).
Phlebotomy certification and BCLS/BLS card.
Current California State Driver's License and the ability to drive a mobile clinic Van.
Skill in performing phlebotomy and skill in administering injections and immunizations.
Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, and skill at working independently and prioritizing assignments.
Ability to pass a Basic Health Worker course and obtain certificate.
Ability to prioritize and follow through on assignments, and work in a busy setting with conflicting demands.
Knowledge of health education, public health, and medical terminology.
Ability to travel between sites in LA County as needed.
Effective oral and written bilingual English/Spanish communication skills is preferred.
