At Shaker Recruitment Marketing, our Project Management team is the backbone of all project endeavors, from our clients' "Day One", through onboarding, and on to a variety of Shaker services, including creative and client service. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Client Project Manager who brings extensive expertise in marketing processes and client management. This critical role oversees both small- and large-scale creative and client service projects.
As a senior leader within the Project Management Team, you will guide the full lifecycle of client projects, managing complex workflows and ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget. Acting as the primary point of contact for internal Shaker creative and client service team, you will drive project success with a single client focus while fostering strong relationships. You will interface daily with the client services team and leads while also being client-facing, reporting on project progress across all active Shaker projects. With our Project Management team at the center of all activity, this role is vital to our collective success and the exceptional results we deliver to our clients.
Client Leadership & Relationship Management: Serve as one of the primary liaisons between the agency and our key client, ensuring that their needs and objectives are understood and met. Develop and maintain high levels of team trust, communication, collaboration, productivity, and engagement. Effectively and impartially navigate teams with multiple and at times, competing, priorities. Project Oversight & Strategic Execution: Take ownership of high-value and complex projects, ensuring alignment with the client's business strategy. Define and lead project scope, timelines, deliverables, and budgets, overseeing execution from initiation to completion. Manage the allocation of resources across multiple projects and internal teams, and balance workload efficiently. Maintain project organization and tracking so projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet the agency's quality standard Draft and own project plans (i.e. timelines, budget, SOWs, staff plans) inclusive of Account Management, Strategy, Creative, Production, Media, and Measurement in collaboration with the client services lead. Creative Project Management and Leadership: Manage and deliver best-in-class creative projects with varying degrees of complexity, from fast-turn, small-scale projects to complex, large-scale projects with a high degree of independence from intake and brief development to completion. Map out the varying scale of project phases and tasks necessary for completion, ensuring adequate time for all team members, while aligning with and informing creative team, client service team and client stakeholders. Appropriately brief creative team on client and client guidelines to maintain brand compliance. Collaborate with creative operations and resource leads to scope and plan all creative projects, from intake and budgeting through project assignment to completion. Partner with client service leaders and client stakeholders to understand project needs and gather feedback. Cross-Functional Team Leadership Collaborate with internal departments such as client services, creative, digital, programmatic, metrics and finance to ensure all aspects of the project are integrated and on track Resolve any conflicts or roadblocks that may arise during the project lifecycle, ensuring smooth internal and external communication. Budget & Financial Management In collaboration with client service and creative stakeholders, organize, monitor, and track time for clients requiring consistent reporting. Coordinate the financial management of projects, including project budget forecasting, tracking, and final reconciliation in collaboration with the client services lead. Maintain project organization and tracking so projects remain profitable and within budget. Identify and communicate any budget risks early, offering solutions to minimize financial impact. Process Improvement & Innovation: Monitor project health and KPIs andconduct internal/external post-project analyses to identify patterns for replicating success. Identify best practices and ways to simplify complex processes to maximize efficiency. Quality Control & Risk Management: Consistently review all creative and strategic outputs to meet client expectations and align with the overall campaign objectives. Lead quality assurance efforts and ensure all deliverables adhere to agency and client standards. Identify potential risks to projects and develop mitigation plans to address them proactively. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. 6-8 years of experience in creative project or account management within an advertising or marketing agency. Demonstrated success in managing large, complex projects and client portfolios, including creative, digital media, traditional media, and integrated marketing campaigns. Expertise in Microsoft Office, SmartSheet, Asana, or similar project management tools. Excellent time management skills, as well as an understanding of the appropriate time commitments across departments. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels. Strong financial acumen and budget management. Advanced knowledge of marketing and advertising processes, including creative, media, and digital production. Proven ability to manage multiple small- and large-scale projects simultaneously, delivering high-quality work under pressure.
