Purpose:
You will support Substation and Transmission projects with focus on electrical protection and control activities for Worley and its Customers as an integral part of the Power Networks team.
Responsibilities:
Technical execution of complex protection and control project assignments applied to both brownfield and greenfield projects for various clients.
Preparation of engineering drawings and documents, calculations, and other miscellaneous deliverables as required.
Supervise/coordinate other engineers of equal and lesser experience to successfully deliver a project.
Complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and/or standards, on schedule and within budget.
Discuss technical problems and communicate effectively with other project personnel and outside Customers.
Perform independent audits and reviews of technical work.
Perform proposal preparation, proposal estimates, and provide input to scope documents and client presentations.
Perform the function of a team leader that is capable of solving complex issues and act as a lead engineer responsible for the quality of the deliverables.
Work in a team-oriented environment with ability to work independently or as part of a group when required.
Interface with other departmental staff, project management, and with outside Customers.
Ability to travel to job sites to perform site walkdown.
Responsible for the quality assurance of the documents to the applicable drawing standards and proper document management procedures.
What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
Extensive experience in protection and control engineering for switchyards and substations including supervisory experience (up to and including 500kV voltage class stations).
Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
Has a competent understanding of regulations, electrical codes, manufacturing standards and industry standard practices.
Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills that permit working efficiently alongside senior substation engineers and designers in a team setting.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
4 or 5 year Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
Preferred:
Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States is preferred.
