The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the company's strategic objective to significantly grow its defense business, particularly focusing on sophisticated composite and additively manufactured air vehicle structures, advanced electrical wiring and interconnect systems, and aerospace transparencies. This leadership role involves leading, initiating, and capturing strategic defense campaigns in the USA, UK, and Europe, with the goal of positioning the company early on with OEMs to access major defense design and build programs. The SVP will be accountable for top-line growth in the defense market, and will be responsible for developing and delivering campaign strategies that lead to concrete business partnerships.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 10 years' of experience in business development or campaigning/capture within the aerospace and defense industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, with at least 5 years' of experience in closing deals with US defense OEMs, and 5 years' of experience in winning United States Air Force programs. Experience in global team management, as well as a strong US industrial background in aero structures, wiring, or canopies with a defense OEM or Tier 1 supplier, is essential. The SVP will also be expected to have the ability to influence and operate at all levels, both internally and externally, and to anticipate future trends based on market intelligence.
This is a high-impact role that requires a strategic thinker with the ability to lead the launch of high-priority initiatives and manage key customer relationships. The candidate should be a proactive, results-driven individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders. A background in the structural components of missile systems and experience in accessing US government/defense funding initiatives is preferred.
