The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the creation and execution of a comprehensive major gifts fundraising plan, with a focus on securing transformational individual gifts. This includes overseeing a portfolio of major donors, deepening relationships, and expanding the pool of prospective funders. The role involves setting and meeting ambitious revenue targets, collaborating with organizational leaders to ensure strategic alignment, and coaching staff in major gift development strategies. The SVP, Major Gifts will also be instrumental in establishing and managing systems for donor stewardship and engagement, as well as leading and growing a national major gifts team.
The ideal candidate for this role at the company will be a passionate and adept relationship builder with a strong commitment to access and equity in education. They should have a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience, including a proven track record in fundraising, philanthropy, business development, or sales. Strategic planning, leadership, and partnership skills are essential, as is the ability to inspire and lead a team. The role requires a forward-thinking mindset, proficiency in managing a fundraising pipeline, and experience with a multi-site, mission-driven organization.
