Integrated Medical Services, Inc. is currently searching for a professional, compassionate and knowledgeable individual to fill the position Site Supervisor/Medical Assistantfor our Primary Care Department.The Site Supervisor/Medical Assistant will provide coverage and support under the direction of the practice manager and physician(s) of the practice, to team members to ensure smooth patient flow and physician satisfaction, and may assist Practice Manager, with practice operations and business functions.Prepares patient for exam and treatment bytaking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate and charts in electronic medical records accurately and efficiently. Report's condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician Assistants providers with examsand acts as a chaperone as needed.
Performs a variety of office-based testing and treatments related to patient care under the supervision of a clinician, including but not limited to injections, aspirations, and other procedures as needed.May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed. Uses universal sterile techniques and personal protectiveequipment as needed at all times to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospitals and other ancillary medical treatments and tests.Responsible for communicating test results, patient instructions regarding durable medical equipment and home exercise programs to patient, where directed.Acts as a resource to clinical and non-clinical staff in order to provide optimal patient care.
Provides clerical support with patient/client notification and documentation, to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertainingto each patient visit.Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.Other duties to include scheduling follow up appointments with patients
Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas.Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures.Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSH guidelines in handling of hazardous substances,Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
Keeps in communication with the front office to aid in patient flow.Responsible for prioritization of patient work flow through clinical process
**Healthcare experience required Responsibilities: Monitor to make sure employees are clocking in and out according to company policy. Approve time off for employees while they are sick/on vacation/leave, etc. Approve time off requests and approve PTO through Time and Labor. Encourage employees to follow the policies and procedure of IMS and any procedures that are specific to any procedures Responsible for staff supervision, corrective action, and recommendations for termination Assists Practice Manager in developing and enforcing staff schedules. Responsible for evaluating staff performance, developing standards and ensuring basic competencies for all staff. Encourage employees in their job performance Interview, select and hire new employees for open positions. Work with Practice Manager to develop and implement goals and objectives for the clinical areas. Oversees clinical areas nd ensures functions re being completed accurately and timely (including patient intake, care, coordination, documentation, exam room preparation, compliance, and inventory management) Provides support to Practice Manage to ensure the clinic flow is smooth and efficient and the patient care needs are met Addresses issues raise by Practice Manager Monitors schedules & daily flow and report to Practice Manager Maintains office supplies/equipment. Schedules and/or performs maintenance of equipment and/or facilities. Assists with Practice Manager functions in the absence of the Practice Manager Respond cordially and timely to the requests via email,, inner office mail and phone calls from all departments within IMS. Monitors task list for completion and report to the Practice Manager. Establish credibility and a strong presence in the division. Present yourself professionally as a role model for the other employees. Maintain cordial relationships with the other practices and referring practices, hospital staff etc. Continuously optimize staff roles and responsibilities to meet performance goals. Develop and maintain an open effective line of communications with clinical and on-clinical staff. Participate in Management meetings Support change management Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form, which may jeopardies the privacy of patient and/or employees. Requirements:Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently and to be accurate, efficient and organized Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion. Ability to respond to emergent or stressful situations in a calm and professional manner. Ability to interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Intermediate computer skills (i.e. MS Word, Excel). Ability to maintain good working relationships while addressing complex sensitive administrative issues. Must have knowledge of and follow HIPAA guidelines and secure Protected Health Information at all times. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required. A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration preferred. Minimum 1 -3 years' experience supervising a clinical setting. Supervisory experience in a clinic or hospital setting, including medical insurance, coding and reimbursement. Bilingual preferred Medical Asst. Certificate/Medical Asst. Diploma Medical office experience a must Backoffice experience Perform other duties as assigned Travel may be required depending on business needs Hours may vary and be outside of normal office hours depending on business needs.
