SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER
The Social Media Manager will oversee the administration of our social media accounts, ensuring consistent and effective implementation of the institution's social media policy. This role is responsible for driving follower growth, boosting engagement, and developing and executing social media campaigns that align with marketing strategies. Will also analyze performance data to optimize content and strategies. Staying up to date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends is essential, as is having excellent communication skills and the ability to creatively represent the institution's voice to ensure high levels of web traffic and meaningful audience engagement
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in social media management, preferably in the higher education sector or related industries.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, with a passion for staying updated on industry developments.
Excellent written communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to craft engaging and effective social media content.
Proficiency with content scheduling platforms (e.g., ZOHO social) and analytics tools (Google Analytics, platform-specific insights) or performance monitoring.
Knowledge of social media metrics, SEO practices, and how content can impact web visibility.
Deep understanding of platform functionality, algorithms, and audience expectations across various social media channels.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and execute social media campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences.
Ability to collaborate with multiple departments to ensure compliance with institutional policies and external regulations regarding social media use.
Excellent people and communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally with coworkers and stakeholders.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for special projects and events.
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement strategies to increase engagement with key audiences, including prospective students, parents, counselors, and education professionals.
Conceptualize and execute creative ideas to showcase the institution's brand, values, achievements, and community through engaging social media content.
Create, curate and publish compelling content across institutional social media platforms.
Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and appropriately to inquiries.
Manage social media crises, including addressing negative feedback, PR issues, or viral misinformation.
Monitor the accounts of other units to ensure they comply with institutional policies and branding.
Keep institutional account passwords up to date and secure.
Train account managers on institutional policies, institutional narratives, brand compliance, the use of photos and images, and best practices for social media management.
Analyze social media performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies, making data-driven adjustments to optimize results and achieve objectives.
Identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement based on data analysis, audience feedback, and industry best practices.
Provide regular reports and recommendations to the unit leadership to inform strategic decision-making and optimize content strategies.
