We are seeking a temporary Software Quality Engineer that will apply advanced technical skills and knowledge to assess and resolve technical problems, guide program teams to successful and compliant milestones and bolster a culture of technical excellence and mission assurance through our people with available mentoring, training, and opportunities for advancement based on performance. A successful candidate possesses a strong academic foundation and has experience in aerospace systems or engineering.
What You Will Do Interface with cross functional teams (Chief Engineer, Integrated Product Team Lead, software development team, CM, DM, Test Engineers and Security) as appropriate Participate in software design, development, integration, and test milestones Conduct product and/or process evaluation activities in support of continuous improvement Define, collect, and report on program performance metrics as needed Active participant in software acceptance test verification, validation and release process Participate in change control boards and assure actions are tracked to completion Peer Review software deliverables and documentation i.e., contractor and subcontractor deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs), test procedures, requirements verification traceability Interface with customer and Government Quality Assurance representatives in support of program, corporate, and third-party audits for AS9100 site certifications or assessments as needed May require alternate shift and/or weekend support as needed Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than two (2) years of prior relevant experience. Experience within Engineering and/or Quality Engineering Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and/or other engineering and manufacturing related documents Working experience with Agile DevSecOps Framework including SCRUM Working experience with Agile development tools, i.e., Jira, GIT The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance Knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS 9100 Quality Management Systems Knowledge in configuration management and control tools i.e., Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, PDM, Defect Logger, iTracker, SVN, GitHub Experience working in a Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) environment Familiarity with Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework Working experience with software problem reporting and corrective action process Ability to utilize DevSecOps Metrics to monitor program performance and proliferate continuous improvement activities Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) MS Access and Project Familiar with command media Problem solving, critical technical assessment, leadership, and communication skills Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision-making skills with limited supervisory intervention Effective interpersonal communication and ability to work well in a team environment. Additional Information: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
