We are looking for Special Ed Teachers with at least 5 years of experience, who can design a plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for patients with neurological disabilities in a clinical setting. The position requires expertise in behavior modification at all ages, but specially teenagers. Our clinic provides a unique environment where medical treatments are combined with therapeutic approaches with the main goal of academic and personal success.
In this position, you will be responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instructions to stimulate the acquisition of skills in children and adults with neurodevelopmental conditions, such as Autism, ADHD, Speech Delay, and among others. The professional will bring their educational background to the clinical scenario. The ideal candidate should be interested in learning avant-garde techniques and methodologies of treatments.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Meet with patients and relatives to discuss the patients' progress and to determine priorities for the students' and their individualized educational needs
Confer with parents, health providers, administrators, testing specialists, social workers, and other professionals to develop individualized education programs designed to promote students' educational, physical, and social/emotional development
Maintain accurate and complete progress records and prepare reports on patients and activities
Establish clear objectives and communicate those objectives to caregivers
Develop plans for effective communication, monitoring, and follow-up of patients
Requirements and qualifications:
Bachelor degree or higher in Special Education or related degree
Master Degree preferred
Minimum 5 years experience with patients/students with neurological disabilities in a clinical setting
Experience in diagnosing and assessing learning disorders
Experience in educating special needs students
Proven effective classroom and student behavior management skills
Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies
Knowledge and understanding of state, local and federal regulations and policies affecting special education
Working knowledge of educational technology applications
