Job Summary: The Specimen Processing Technician I (SPT I) plays a crucial role in the Specimen Processing Department, providing essential support functions in a fast-paced production environment. This position requires a strong background in data entry and familiarity with laboratory operations.

Requirements:
Perform A-station duties and presort specimens according to laboratory requirements.Safely handle specimen pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely transport to the laboratory.Operate imaging and microfilming equipment to document specimens accurately.Conduct centrifugation and aliquoting procedures with attention to detail.Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with biohazard safety protocols.Uphold high standards of productivity and quality to meet departmental completion times.Utilize strong data entry skills to input a minimum of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.Adapt to daily changes in compliance regulations related to test ordering processes.Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate night shifts, weekends, holidays, on-call duty, and overtime based on staffing needs.
