Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Speech Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children with autism spectrum disorders and will be skilled in designing and implementing individualized therapy plans to enhance communication skills, social interaction, and overall developmental progress.
Responsibilities: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, and communication abilities in children with autism. Develop accurate diagnoses and create tailored therapy plans.
Therapy Development: Design and implement individualized therapy programs based on assessment results and client needs. Use a range of evidence-based techniques and strategies to address specific communication challenges.
Family Collaboration: Work closely with families to educate them about their child's communication needs and provide guidance on home-based activities to reinforce therapy goals. Maintain open and supportive communication with parents and caregivers.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly evaluate and document each child's progress toward therapy goals. Adjust therapy plans as needed based on ongoing assessments and feedback.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, behavioral therapists, and educators, to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development.
Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech therapy and autism spectrum disorders. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Licensure: Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Experience: Proven experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders. Experience in a clinical, school, or home-based setting is preferred.
Skills: Strong knowledge of speech and language development, autism spectrum disorders, and evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Certifications: Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred but not required.
