As the Applications Delivery Leader for the Voluntary Benefits division of Trustmark, you will leverage your extensive business acumen and expertise in voluntary benefits (life, group, supplemental health, term, employer, broker) insurtech/technology to serve as both a strategic partner and a technical subject matter expert. You will work closely with Trustmark's business leaders, IT executives, and various internal and external stakeholders to steer the development and implementation of technology strategies, systems, and solutions for the Voluntary Benefits division.
This is a hybrid role with 3 days at our campus in Lake Forest, IL, and 2 days remote.Key Accountabilities: Strategic Leadership: Acts as a strategic business partner to the Voluntary Benefits division leaders through consulting and creating technology strategies, systems, and IT best-practice solutions specific to the division and represents division interests to senior IT leadership. Technical (Insuretech) Leadership: Serves as a point of contact for IT to the Voluntary Benefits leadership team, and works with the group to design business cases, gather and define requirements, present short/long term technical roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, assess risk, and work across the organization on the portfolio of voluntary benefit technology projects to support business goals and IT priorities. Communications: Communicates directly with executive level business unit and IT leadership, end users, cross-functional stakeholders internally and externally, to engage, develop trusting relationships, balance business support with IT best practices, drive consensus, and share out decisions, and project information with all stakeholders. Execution: Leads SDLC full end-to-end management, of the portfolio of projects for Voluntary Benefits, with support of dedicated application solutions engineers; oversees relevant 3rd party/vendor/Managed Service Provider contract and relationship management, performance, and financial oversight as the accountable leader for project execution. Innovation: Drives IT innovation and promotes new technologies, provides proactive improvements to technology and processes, drives change, and supports others through new approaches. Minimum Qualifications: •A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years relevant experience in IT •Experience delivering a portfolio of strategic projects for a business unit •Demonstrated experience with insurance technology (insurtech) •Insurance industry knowledge of group administration platforms, billing, claims, commissions, full insurance lifecycle, etc. •Experience communicating directly with and advising non-technical senior business leaders as a technical subject matter/expert consultant •Experience assessing, evaluating and prioritizing technology solutions to business needs to drive decisions in the insurance technology landscape •Experience presenting short- and long-term technology roadmaps to support anticipated changes •Experience leading both internal and 3rd party/managed service provider/ vendor-based teams to achieve project goals •Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall, modern cloud and emerging technologies, API's, Integrations, SaaS/PaaS, Applications, Policy Administration Systems Key Attributes •Communication
