Salary Band: $260,000-$350,000 Position Overview: The Senior Director/VP of Business Development and Commercial Strategy will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for driving the company's business development strategy, forging strategic partnerships, and advancing the company's product pipeline through informed decision-making, commercial analysis, and market insights. This role requires a deep understanding of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical landscape, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to achieve Scorpion Therapeutics' long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Business Development:Lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic partnerships, licensing opportunities, and acquisitions that align with Scorpion Therapeutics' business goals.Develop and implement business development strategies to expand the company's product pipeline, enhance market position, and drive revenue growth.Negotiate and close high-value deals with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and research institutions.Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on business development opportunities and market insights.Oversee the development and execution of product intelligence strategies to support the company's drug discovery and development efforts.Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to inform product development and strategic decisions.Collaborate closely with R&D, clinical, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between product development and market needs.External Relationships:Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, potential partners, and investors.Represent Scorpion Therapeutics at industry conferences, networking events, and in negotiations with external partners.Financial and Strategic Planning:Collaborate with the finance team to develop financial models and forecasts for potential partnerships and product opportunities.Contribute to the overall strategic planning process, ensuring that business development initiatives are aligned with corporate goals and financial objectives.Qualifications: Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a related field (MBA or PhD preferred).Minimum of 7 years of experience in therapeutics business development, strategic partnerships, or product intelligence within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.Proven track record of successfully leading and closing complex business deals, including licensing agreements and partnerships.Deep understanding of the oncology market, drug development process, and regulatory environment.Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and drive results under pressure.Scorpion Therapeutics Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer who strives to create and maintain a diverse working environment.
