When you join Design Group as a Senior Electrical Engineer, PE, you are joining a team that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world's leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Architecture/Engineering Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.
What You'll Do
We are seeking a talented Licensed Electrical Engineer who thrives not only in designing full electrical systems, including power, lighting, etc. for large, complex manufacturing facility buildings but also values strong mentorship and leadership.
You'll be joining a firm that meticulously evaluates each project before engagement, ensuring we have the right capacity, skillsets, and licenses. Our environment is crafted to avoid throwing new engineers into the deep end, with a focus on nurturing through strong mentorship. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and experience in power distribution, load flow analysis, low voltage, (medium voltage a plus), and lighting design.
As a pivotal member of our team, you'll be instrumental in creating and implementing state-of-the-art electrical design solutions, elevating the standards of manufacturing plant efficiency and safety for our manufacturing clients in the food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods sectors. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Leadership and Management : Take charge of large-scale, complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completion. This involves strategic planning, resource allocation, risk management, and ensuring that projects are delivered within scope, time, and budget constraints.
Technical Innovation and Advanced Problem Solving : Lead the research and implementation of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies in electrical engineering.
Organizational Leadership and Influence : Act as a senior representative of the electrical engineering team in cross-departmental initiatives.
Electrical Design Leadership : Spearhead electrical design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
NEC Mastery : Apply an in-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code to craft designs that meet the utmost safety and quality benchmarks.
Advanced Power Distribution : Design robust power distribution systems, skilled in both low and medium voltage applications.
Expert Load Flow Analysis : Optimize power distribution through precise load flow analysis.
Innovative Lighting Design : Craft lighting solutions that boost safety, productivity, and energy conservation.
Collaborative Facilities Design : Engage in multidisciplinary projects, offering your electrical engineering expertise.
Software Proficiency : Utilize leading software like Easy Power, REVIT, and AutoCAD for sophisticated modeling and simulation.
Client Interaction : Directly collaborate with clients to align our electrical solutions with their unique objectives.
Leadership in Team Dynamics : Play a pivotal role in leading project teams.
Mentorship and Professional Development : Act as a mentor to junior engineers and other team members.
Coaching and Knowledge Sharing : Engage in active coaching of junior team members.

10+ Years of Relevant Experience : Proven track record in electrical engineering.
