The Senior Process Engineer provides advanced engineering expertise to develop and implement process optimization strategies, troubleshoot operational challenges, and lead complex engineering projects.
This role applies diverse engineering principles to address significant operational, manufacturing, or capital project challenges, ensuring efficient and compliant solutions.
The Senior Process Engineer independently designs, executes, and interprets projects of substantial scope and complexity while mentoring and supervising a small team of engineers, associates, and technicians.
Responsibilities: Perform complex and novel engineering assignments requiring the development of innovative techniques and procedures.
Develop and implement engineering policies and procedures across multiple organizational units.
Supervise and review the work of engineers, associates, and technicians on an ongoing and project basis.
Apply advanced engineering techniques and methodologies to resolve challenging technical issues.
Serve as an engineering technology specialist in at least one area, determining methodologies and solutions for related projects.
Plan and conduct engineering projects with maturity and independence.
Develop technical solutions to complex problems using creativity and ingenuity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research, manufacturing, process development, quality assurance, and validation, to define requirements and recommend system modifications.
Partner with project managers to deliver design and engineering projects within budget, schedule, and quality constraints.
Coordinate with external consultants, architects, and engineering firms to develop standardized design documents.
Prepare and manage budgets for complex projects involving multiple disciplines.
Skills: Comprehensive understanding of validation protocols, engineering science, and production processes.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse working styles and stakeholders.
Strong financial analysis skills to develop project budgets and manage resources effectively.
Expertise in at least three areas of engineering technology, with the ability to lead and mentor teams.
Requirements Qualification: Doctorate degree OR Master's degree with 3 years of engineering experience OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5 years of engineering experience.
Preferred Qualification: Experience in pharmaceutical/biotech processes.
Familiarity with validation processes and highly regulated documentation requirements.
Knowledge of GLPs and GMPs.
Proficiency in operating specialized laboratory equipment and computers.
Expertise in validation protocol execution, equipment installations, and process optimization.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical writing skills.
