Responsibilities The Senior Manager, Grants and Finance will lead a portfolio of Fiscally Sponsored Organizations (FSOs), providing them with support around grants, finance, and overall operations. The Senior Manager ensures that the finance and grant management services are delivered timely, accurately, efficiently, effectively, maintaining a professional and amiable client relationship with the FSOs, and providing direct high level customer service around short and long-term financial sustainability and growth, while at the same time building positive and productive relationships with our clients. This Senior Manager role oversees assigned Grants and Finance Managers, who have their own portfolio, and a Grants and Finance Associate, who supports the team as directed by the Senior Manager. This position also supports cross-departmental leadership and coordination.
Essential Functions Grants and Finance Management – 35% Support a portfolio of FSOs with financial management services including:Reviewing grant proposals, awards, amendments, agreements and assist with budgets and ensure budgets are aligned with anticipated outcomes and ensure funders' compliance requirements.Monitoring spending, review and adjust salary allocations based on funding sources availability and allowability; prepare necessary reporting.Assessing risks and reporting and monitor sub-awards.Ensuring grants are closed out on an accurate and timely basis.Work with the Grants and Finance Associate(s) to ensure proper set up of funder portals with complete documentation of funding awards in compliance with funder guidelines, terms and conditions; ensuring timely and accurate processing of payables, receivables, deposits and billing.Preparation, review and timely distribution of financial reports, funder reports, annual budgets and long-term financial plans based on FSO initial drafts.Document and address issues requiring attention and/or further discussion with FSO and/or supervisor.Assist FSO leadership with understanding financial statements or other reports as needed.Lead "big picture" review of financials in monthly and quarterly meetings with Senior FSO staff, which includes allocations, projections, financial scenarios, and other ad-hoc analysis as necessary.Analyze and monitor FSO fund and cash balances to ensure adequate reserves.Assist with maintenance of record-keeping and systems management to ensure compliance. Program Support and Leadership – 50% Conduct, lead and coordinate organizational updates on financial health, human resources, compliance and risk as well as other updates on regular basis.Lead and coordinate operational-driven workflow creation or changes between project and TSNE internal staff. For example, identify special billing needs, expense or procurement needs.Collaborate with internal FS team leaders to ensure consistent application of TSNE policies, procedures, practices and communications to all FSOs.Keep FSOs and TSNE team informed of status and potential challenges. Identify options, prepare analysis and recommend solutions to address fund balance issues.As a Team Leader, supervise and oversee the work of assigned Grants and Finance Managers and Grants and Finance Associate(s).Lead coordination and integration of FS back-end services as well as other TSNE services.Provide on-boarding and ongoing training to FS staff around client management best practices.Coordinate horizontal teams to leverage supports from the accounting, human resources, payroll, and other teams as well as vertically for escalation and leadership support.Work closely with Director of Finance to problem-solve, evaluate FSO performance and forecasting, and ensure the best possible service to all FSOs.Lead financial system/budget module reporting efforts including assessment of needs, design of new reports, testing and roll-out. Client Relationship Management – 15% Oversee client trainings on systems and tools.Lead the on-boarding and off-boarding of FSOs.Provide information as needed for advisory boards.Support HR as needed in the assessment of the FSO ED and operational liaisons. Complete other tasks and projects related to the position, as needed.

Six or more years of experience managing grants and nonprofit finances;Supervisory experience and/or experience leading teams or projects required;Strong meeting planning and facilitation skills;Nonprofit funding and federal grant management experience, strongly preferred;Experience assessing and implementing business processes;Knowledgeable on various aspects of federal grant regulatory compliance requirements;Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and data management systems; implementation of new financial/reporting systems a plus;Ability to support and maintain a people-centered culture of high operational and customer service standards;Knowledge of nonprofit management best practices;Experience handling confidential information;Ability to think strategically, set goals, and implement a vision;Excellent real-time communication and problem-solving skills;Demonstrated ability to multi-task, react and think quickly, and adjust to changing priorities;Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and involvement who has the initiative to proactively troubleshoot and identify potential problems and resolve conflicts;Ability to build effective professional relationships with stakeholders including staff and external partners;Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite; Salesforce (CRM), ADP, ERP, expense reporting experience a plus);Must be committed to the work of social and economic justice organizations. Physical Demands/Work Environment The physical demands described for this position are that of a typical office environment. Location: Work will be performed between our office located at the NonProfit Center at 89 South Street, Suite 700, Boston, MA 02111 and your home office. This position will be required to be on-site at least once per month and may require flexibility.
Schedule: This position is full-time at 37.5 hours per week and hours are flexible within reason.
Compensation and Benefits Compensation: The salary for this position is $124,500 annually, paid bi-weekly at $4,788.46.
