PART-TIME or FULL- TIME Position

Job Summary

We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team! As a Substance Abuse Counselor on the team, you will be handling a manageable caseload of patients looking to you for treatment and help to overcome a wide variety of addiction issues. Your role will be to assist running an intensive outpatient group, provide 1:1 therapy, Substance abuse evaluations and identify core issues that could be contributing to their abuse, offer resources and support for your clients, and create and implement treatment options. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working with people struggling with addiction and abuse.

Responsibilities

Handle a manageable caseload of patients

Identify core underlying issues that may be contributing to a history of substance abuse

Create and implement treatment plans that fit each patient

Applicant must be able to work with clients to reach goals and complete any and all necessary paperwork

Uplift and support patients, working with them and their families to help create realistic, lasting change

Qualifications

Master's Degree and license in a related mental health field (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counseling)

Experience treating substance use disorder

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong Organizational skills

Strong compassionate outlook, with an upbeat and positive personality
