Job Description / Essential Elements:
Following an assigned schedule, clean classrooms, showers and locker rooms, restrooms, shops, cafeterias, gymnasiums, offices, hall and walkways, and related facilities; sweep, scrub, mop, strip, seal, wash and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo rugs and carpets, dust and polish furniture and woodwork; clean chalkboard, desks, chairs, easels, chalktrays and other classroom instructional equipment, wash windows, walls, tables, benches, and woodwork; clean restrooms including doors, mirrors, sinks, walls, floors, toilets, and hardware, may clean bleacher seats in gymnasium and football stadium; fills dispensers and receptacles as needed; arrange, set-up and remove furniture and equipment in preparing classrooms, auditoriums or other activity areas for special events, activities, or meetings; make minor non-technical repairs necessary to keep assigned areas and equipment operative, safe, and clean; paint student lockers and walls, assemble gym equipment, tables, and chairs; may water, rake, and line areas for athletic events; clean and adjust shades, blinds, desks, chairs, and other furniture; clean gutters and downspouts; change heater filters, check and adjust air conditioning and heating controls, clean sink and toilet drains and replace light bulbs; empty and clean trash and garbage cans and replace liners; sweep walkways, concrete, and blacktop surfaces, pick up paper and other debris on grounds and walks and dispose of refuse; raise and lower flags; lock and unlock doors and gates, secure areas and set or turn off alarms; implement rodent control and eradication techniques; participate in thorough cleaning of schools and facilities during vacation periods; check and report unsafe conditions of playground equipment and grounds; may receive and distribute supplies.
Requirements / Qualifications
The Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting for a Substitute Custodians. Under general supervision, to maintain assigned rooms, building or group of buildings, offices, and service facilities in a clean, orderly and secure manner; to perform outdoor and general grounds care duties when assigned. Selection Process:
The selection process tentatively consists of the District application review, and interviews. The Human Resources Department will contact all applicants once the selection process has been finalized.
Education:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
Entry Level. No experience is required.
REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
If driving a District vehicle is required, operator must have a valid California driver's license and acceptable driving records.
