About the unit Teams 3 & 4 is a Level 1 trauma center with a fast-paced operating room caring for both inpatients and outpatients. Specialties include Urology, Gynecology, ENT, and OMFS. In addition, we have a robust robotic program consisting of 8 DaVinci Xi robots and an SP robot. Our robotic program expands to several service lines including General, Urology, Gynecology, Colorectal, Bariatric, Hepatobiliary, Thoracic and ENT. The first robotic program in Michigan to hit 20,000 robotic surgeries. Our Urology, Gynecology, and ENT programs consistently receive national recognition by the U.S. News & World Reports. We pride ourselves on working together as a team to provide high quality, safe and compassionate care for our patients. On call and weekend requirements are shared amongst the team.

Scope of Work The Surgical Technologist Senior will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. Acts as a preceptor
and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum.

Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred
3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience. Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) - NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire
