GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The role of the Clinical Coordinator is to assist in the administration of the educational program in radiation therapy particularly in the areas of clinical applications/rotations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Serves as a member on all Boards and Committees Supervises faculty & students in clinical applications Correlates clinical education with didactic education Evaluates students Maintains record of clinical performance of each student Supports the Program Director to help assure effective program operation Checks attendance daily of students in clinical applications and maintains record of attendance. Routinely reviews each students clinical performance to assure adequate progress toward attainment of all required clinical competencies Assists in defining criteria, establishing procedures and related materials for clinical competencies Coordinates logistics for clinical site implementation Assisting in the development of guidelines to assure smooth interface between the program and clinical sites and ensures continued effectiveness of clinical education sites Participates in didactic and/or clinical instruction Coordinates clinical education and evaluates its effectiveness Recruitment of students Participates in the assessment process Ensures program compliance with regulatory agencies Ensures continued program accreditation Cooperates with Program Director in periodic review and revision of clinical course materials Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures and student progress Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor On site job Travel within 100 miles of Brooklyn Campus required 0-40% Requirements: Within the last five (5) years, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in either operating room settings or teaching in the field. Throughout the entire work history, a minimum of two (2) years of occupational experience. High School Diploma required; Accredited Surgical Technology Program Certificate required, with an Associates Degree or higher preferred. Current CST certification; BPSS Teacher License preferred.
