This position reports to Systems Drives Operations Manager
Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations/
This role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries division.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer's operations and eliminate pain points.
*Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.
*Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
*Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.
Qualifications for the role High School Diploma or GED and 12+ years of technical work experience required OR Associate's Degree in a related field required and 10+ years of related experience. Understanding of AC and DC drive systems. Experience performing field service technician work for AC and DC coordinated drive systems; and using test equipment including Oscilloscopes, Data Loggers, PDMA motor testing, and CMC measurements. Work with ABB 800xA is a plus. A combination of education and experience must be demonstrated in the AC drives area. Must be available 24/7 based upon business necessity. Up to 80% travel required. Ability to write detailed technical field service reports. Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment. Comply with ABB and customer safety requirements. Complete all designated safety training on time. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
