Job Title: Molecular Imaging and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Specialty: Nuclear Medicine Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8 hours, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Days; No major holidays, no weekends, no on-call Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Relevant state licensure required Certifications: Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred Must-Have: Empathetic approach to patient care, ability to perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures Job Description: - Operate gamma cameras for single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), and positron emission mammography (PEM), including x-ray tubes for various imaging processes.- Perform in-vivo diagnostic testing, including preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals with supervision.- Conduct laboratory tests and handle radiopharmaceuticals and adjunct chemicals safely.- Collect samples and perform diagnostic testing and laboratory analyses.- Work under authorized personnel to manage radioactive materials used for clinical and research purposes.- Conduct tests on compounded radiopharmaceuticals and ensure they meet safety specifications.- Prepare and manage radiotherapeutic procedures.- Prepare patients for exams, ensuring comfort and timely studies.- Perform studies according to policy and match procedures to patient history and condition.- Monitor administration of radiopharmaceuticals and observe metabolic changes.- Complete procedures efficiently ensuring proper documentation for interpretation and billing.- Engage in IV line placement, blood glucose monitoring, and required certifications.- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety procedures, and all applicable regulations.- Communicate professionally and ensure all patient interactions are conducted with dignity and respect.- Train and mentor student technologists on department protocols.- Provide service and care to patients of all ages and conditions, involving additional care when necessary. Duties include: - Performing duties across all department areas as required.- Participating in training and certification programs.- Ensuring proper documentation for billing purposes.
