Job Description:
The American Express is looking for a Tournament Services Intern. This position will be responsible for assisting the Tournament Staff with planning and logistics for staging the event. The ideal candidate for this position must be able to work well in a high-pressure environment, must display strong organizational skills, and must show a high level of oral and written communication.
Tournament Services
oAssist with daily tournament activities as assigned (i.e. Checking F&B, Tournament Office, Pro Am set up, etc.)
Assist tournament staff with special events and projects as needed oAssist with the coordination of the Tournament's social media and marketing efforts
oAssist with tournament courtesy car program Assist with general administrative work and other Tournament Service-related duties as assigned Providing top-notch customer service to fans and sponsors Compiling reports for ticket sales Assist with operation of ticket office during tournament week Create process for Admissions and Will Call during tournament week
oSupport the Sponsor Benefits team throughout all stages of the sales process
oCoordinate event registration, implementation, and gifting during tournament week including but not limited to inputting Pro-Am participant information into Sales Force and Golf Genius.
oCoordination of client ticket and credential fulfillment
oWork with Sponsor Benefits, Food & Beverage, Operations and Volunteers to ensure all suites are show ready for tournament week
Qualifications & Experience:
oSport Management, Marketing, Management, Comunications majors preferred
oEligible to work in the United States; International students must have all visas and employment authorizations
oMust be able to provide own housing and transportation
oAbility to work in a team environment
oWork collaboratively with other departments such as Sponsor Relations, Sales, Marketing, and Volunteers on other projects as assigned
oPublic relations skills and ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, corporate clients, club members and public
oMust take initiative, operate proactively and think independently in project management, problem solving, and critical thinking
oCapacity to work on several projects simultaneously
oSelf-discipline with schedule and time management
oOrganization, attention to detail and follow-through are crucial
oAbility to stand for lengthy periods and to lift/move boxes of supplies potentially weighing 50 pounds
oMust be able to work exceptionally well with others in a close team environment
oMust be polite, courteous, and treat all guests and associates respectfully
oMust be able to stay calm during stressful or demanding moments
oWork extended hours; including nights and weekends leading up to and during the event

Tentative Employment Dates
The Tournament Services internship Dates: November 11th 2024-January 23rd, 2025.
•November 6th -January 2nd: 20-30 Hours per week*
•January 3rd - January 23rd: 60 Hours per week
•January 24th -February 6th: 20 Hours per week
*Evening and Weekends will be necessary as tournament approaches. Holiday schedule will be provided.
