The Jefferson County Attorney's Office is seeking a contracts and transactions Paralegal to provide a high level of strategic support, coordination, and communication for County Attorney staff, County clients and agencies, and elected officials. This position provides primary support to the County Attorney's transactional team. Prior experience in a legal office providing transactional paralegal support such as monitoring contracts and leases, drafting resolutions and ordinances, preparing real estate documents for closings and managing land use and property tax documents is a plus for this position.

The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, be legal-minded, relentlessly detail oriented, and a team player. The candidate must also have the proven ability to take initiative, move between diverse tasks with ease, and must thrive in a high-energy, collegial environment.

This position offers the opportunity for hybrid work, with remote and in-office options, as well as the opportunity for a four-day work week (Monday - Thursday.) This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

Target Hiring Range: $29.00-$34.00 USD Hourly

Full compensation range of the position: $28.97-$43.45

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills, including Equal Work for Equal Pay considerations. This position will be posted until filled.

Essential Duties: Performing administrative tasks by maintaining client files and drafting documents Monitoring contracts and leases for expirations and renewals Drafting resolutions and routing documents Preparing and organizing documents for real estate closings Performing legal research Maintaining electronic files Managing and processing land use and property tax documents. Maintaining notification system and attorney schedule Other duties as assigned Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree plus a minimum of one year of clerical experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm, corporate legal departments, or government agencies, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Paralegal Certificate at hire or currently enrolled in a paralegal program to be completed within six months of date of hire.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Prior experience working in a law office or legal department. Strong written and oral communication. Independent critical thinking and analysis. Strong problem-solving aptitude. Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint etc.) Adobe Acrobat Pro and experiment with new software and systems. Ability to read and interpret statutes and legislation. Strong time management and prioritization skills. Attention to detail and deadlines.
