This position is responsible for daily operations of the warehouse and delivery departments to ensure all personnel, warehouse, and delivery functions of our business are handled in a professional and timely manner. This role is also responsible for ensuring the branch operation complies with corporate policies, governmental regulations, and safe operating practices.**Job Description:**
* Hire, train and manage assigned delivery driver personnel
* Manage delivery drivers in all aspects including customer service, accuracy and productivity
* Oversee driver scheduling to ensure timely delivery of product
* Coordinate all safety activities for Delivery staff
* Manage the efficiency of the delivery routes using routing software
* Interface with customers solving discrepancies, problems and creating a cohesive relationship
* Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship with the sales, warehouse, delivery and customer service departments.
* Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
* Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
* Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
* Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
* Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
* Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
* Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
* Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
**Job Requirements:**
* Bachelor's Degree
* 3+ years of previous management experience in warehouse/distribution environment
* 3+ years of experience in delivery operations
* Experience and knowledge with applicable federal regulations pertaining to the company's business operations including OSHA and DOT regulations.
* DOT certified, ability to drive box truck, commercial driving experience.
* Experience working with unions Preferred.
* Strong computer skills. Previous WMS experience preferred.
* *S* trong organizational skills, versatility, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work as a team member.
* Must be flexible to work multiple shifts.
