to join our Disaster Recovery Team.
Primary Location:
Candidate must live a commutable distance to Guaynabo, PR
The position will be a fully in-office role. We cannot accommodate remote work from home

Essential Functions:
Under policy direction, develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures.
Coordinate with Project Manager to receive the required data necessary for the performance of project underwriting.
Perform underwriting review of projects to determine financial feasibility in the context of CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT Program requirements, inclusive of determination of creditworthiness of the borrower, review of historical and current financial statements, risk analysis of the borrower and business entity, analysis of project economic feasibility, and cost factors, review of operating income projections and ability to support loan terms, review of business or industry growth trends, the performance of ratio analyses, and other specified risk factors.
Prepare and provide underwriting review determinations with supporting analysis and supporting documentation.
Confer with applicant entities to obtain clarifications and required supplemental supporting financial documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or similar fields.
Five (5) years of experience in the performance of commercial and industrial underwriting and credit and risk analysis of complex financial transactions funded with multiple funding streams on diverse industries and sectors for a bank, commercial lender, private equity firm, lending, or bank regulator, or financial advisory firm.
Must be familiar with loan underwriting for real estate, commercial and industrial loans, credit file and report reviews, review of appraisals, review and analysis of development pro forma for commercial, industrial, and public improvements, review, and analysis of operational pro forma, review of construction estimates and property condition reports, review and analysis of historical and current financial reports, requirements for performing cash flow analysis, coverage, and cash flow projections, review of debt structures, debt analysis and debt coverage, review and analysis of the market and industry data as a factor in determining financial feasibility, the performance of loan risk analysis functions, and use of financial ratio analysis tools.
Ability to perform underwriting reviews in conformance with the requirements of 24 CFR Part 570, Appendix A.
Must have fluent verbal and written communication skills.
