The successful candidate will be a key partner to the Chair of Medicine and Senior Vice President, providing operational, strategic, and financial leadership for the internal medicine specialties. This role involves working closely with departmental leadership to develop and ensure the effective operation of long-term and short-term strategic goals, as well as overseeing comprehensive budget planning, financial analysis, and the integration of information technology. The Vice President will also be responsible for human resources management, including championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and for maintaining the financial stability of the department while controlling expenses.
Applicants must have a Master's degree, preferably in business, finance, or a related science field, and a minimum of 10 years' of professional business or management experience, including in a clinical or healthcare environment. Experience in an academic medical center setting with matrixed reporting relationships and physician practice management is highly preferred. The role requires excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and handle confidential information with integrity. The Vice President will be expected to ensure that the department's clinical revenues increase annually and to develop and implement programs that enhance the skills of employees and the effectiveness of clinical services.
