About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President of Interconnection and Transmission to lead the expansion of its portfolio of greenfield renewable energy projects across the US. The role requires a seasoned leader with over 12 years of experience in high voltage interconnection for renewable energy projects, including at least 4 years in a management capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of utility-scale renewable energy developers through regional injection capacity analysis and the interconnection process, from the initial request to project commissioning. This includes assessing financial implications, risks, and necessary securities, as well as overseeing the interconnection studies and offering strategic advice to mitigate risks and achieve construction readiness within set timelines.
Key responsibilities for this role include collaborating with the Chief Development Officer to formulate and implement strategies for greenfield projects, spearheading communications with Independent System Operators, Regional Transmission Organizations, and industry experts, and supervising the technical evaluation of project equipment from an interconnection standpoint. The ideal candidate will have a commercial perspective, the ability to strategize effectively, and a profound ability to cultivate robust relationships in the industry. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field is preferred, and the candidate should be open to up to 30% domestic travel with the possibility of occasional trips to Europe. Proficiency in computing skills and a keen interest in evaluating new software tools for project analysis is also required.
