This role is pivotal in shaping and scaling the legal function within the growing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Legal Team, providing day-to-day legal advice on a range of matters including risk mitigation, customer and vendor contracts, data processing and security, and corporate leases. They will also be tasked with scaling the Legal Team, establishing departmental strategy, and overseeing key customer deals. The role involves managing complex legal agreements, drafting and maintaining policies to meet regulatory requirements, and advising the Executive Leadership Team on global privacy and data protection laws.
Applicants must have a strong legal background, with active membership in the US State Bar and a minimum of 4-7 years' relevant legal experience, preferably in a technology company. Leadership skills, experience in scaling a legal team, and expertise in commercial contracts, data protection laws, and international corporate governance are essential. The ideal candidate will also have experience in M&A, legal due diligence, and be comfortable advising stakeholders at all levels. A collaborative approach, high attention to detail, and the ability to mentor team members are key attributes. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong business acumen, capable of contributing to the organization's risk management strategies and supporting the company's growth and innovation.
