The successful candidate will be a key leader in the conceptualization, initiation, and oversight of marketing, communications, and visitor-facing revenue and service functions. This role is pivotal in upholding and enhancing the institution's reputation and brand as a world-class leader in learning through play. Responsibilities include the development and execution of marketing strategies, internal and external communications, and staff development to ensure the Museum remains relevant and meets the evolving needs of its audience. The VP will also be involved in business development, ideation, and will lead a team of professionals to maintain a 5-star visitor experience.
Candidates for the Vice President position should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with a Master's in a related field preferred, and at least 10 years of experience in marketing and communications, including 5 years in a management role. Experience in customer service or visitor experience, as well as with digital marketing and social media platforms, is essential. The role requires excellent leadership and management skills, the ability to work effectively with a diverse team, and a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. The VP will be responsible for overseeing the department's budgets, developing and maintaining financial projections, and managing the production of marketing materials. Strong creative problem-solving, analytic capabilities, and a proven track record in marketing and communications strategies are also necessary.
