About the Role The Company is in search of a VP of Application Development to lead and align the development team with the strategic vision and business goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of onshore and offshore developers, overseeing the full software development life cycle for eCommerce platforms, and managing eCommerce implementations. A key aspect of the role is to ensure that application development is in line with business objectives, and the ideal candidate will have a background in leadership within distribution, retail, or eCommerce companies. The role also involves coordinating with external managed services and QA teams, as well as managing product information and master data projects.

Applicants for the VP of Application Development position at the company should have a proven track record in eCommerce platform management and SDLC, with a strong background in leading development teams and strategic projects. Experience with eCommerce platforms such as Shopify or Magento is essential, and knowledge of PIM or master data projects is a plus. The role requires expertise in distribution, retail, and eCommerce, and the ability to align technology initiatives with business goals. A background in a smaller or mid-size company is also a must. The position may involve occasional travel for meetings and has the potential to evolve into a CIO role.
