This includes ensuring compliance with evolving laws and industry standards, and creating legal solutions and processes that align with business and revenue goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for operationally upleveling the legal department, managing global contracts teams, and leading the negotiating strategy for high-profile customer contracts. Additionally, the VP of Legal will provide legal support for key business initiatives, work closely with cross-functional teams, and manage relationships with external counsel. The role demands a strategic thinker with a strong business acumen, capable of balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
Applicants for the VP of Legal position at the company should hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and have 8-12 years' of legal experience, preferably with a background in the software or technology sectors. The role requires a detailed understanding of commercial agreements, corporate governance, and the legal aspects of SaaS businesses. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in negotiating and drafting complex agreements, managing legal teams, and providing sound legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
