About this role Business Overview BlackRock's Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock's fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA's mission is to advance the firm's risk management practices and to deliver independent risk expertise and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes. RQA's risk managers play a meaningful role in BlackRock's investment process, using quantitative analysis and a multi-disciplinary skillset to tackle real-world problems and provide tangible solutions in the investment management process.

Key Responsibilities: Daily risk management and oversight of credit portfolios, including review of new deals going to investment committee, where materialPartner with investment teams and businesses to ensure that risks are fully understood, consistent with client objectives, and appropriately mitigatedCommunicate with impact and provide constructive challenge to decision makers to influence portfolio construction and drive better investment decisionsAssess portfolios' ability to withstand market and economic stress by conducting scenario analysis and stress testsDrive continuous evolution in portfolio analytics and risk monitoring tools in partnership with team members across RQA, portfolio management, and financial engineeringWork collaboratively with peers across RQA and help mentor junior risk managersQualifications A degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., MBA, CFA, etc.) preferred9+ years of previous work experience in the financial services industry (asset management, investment banking, consulting, etc.) requiredPrevious experience as a risk manager or investment analyst supporting corporate credit (C&I), private credit, or private equity portfolios is preferredStrong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of articulating independent thinking with convictionAbility to anchor relationships with lead portfolio managers and build a network across BlackRock and externallyHighly organized, proactive, and exhibiting impeccable attention to detailAbility to bring innovative ideas into the portfolio construction and risk management processFor California and New York City only the salary range for this position is $147,500 - $209,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model BlackRock's hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
