Great Lakes Wine & Spirits is a growing statewide company seeking a Warehouse Sorter Clerk for the Night Shift at our depot in Highland Park. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of a Warehouse Sorter Clerk is ensuring the proper use and operations of sorting and conveyance systems to maximize production and accuracy throughout warehouse. This involves communicating production and picking issues to Warehouse Management such as late cases, backups, delays, sequence issues, equipment issues, and system issues. Other duties include but not limited to:
Calling Management for backup during periods of prolonged absence such as mechanical issues and personal breaks, as needed Turn on and off all conveyance (and related) equipment before and after production accordingly Manually jog cases through as necessary Author and submit reports as delegated by Management Address jams and breakage to ensure continuous flow of products through the system Maintain a clean and orderly work area Maintain valid certifications for all applicable material handling equipment Use all equipment as intended; employing proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary or required As a secondary responsibility, this position will accurately applying printed labels on cases within our Highland Park warehouse before being loaded on to delivery trucks and distributed to our customers throughout Michigan. Your attention to detail and safety is especially important as you must keep the warehouse and work zone cleaned and organized while operating electric pallet jack, forklifts, and other equipment. As a part of the warehouse team, you may also assist with stacking light-on-heavy cases on to pallets with labels are facing out in preparation for loading on to trucks

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The Warehouse Sorter Clerk position operates in a warehouse environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration where the noise level can be loud. This position is also very active and must frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, stoop and climb throughout the day while lifting, stacking, moving and rotating with items, without handles, that weigh up to 50 pounds; push/pull carts with up to 100 pounds of force. This position is required to operate warehouse equipment and regularly to read, write and communicate in English.

Work Schedule

This is a Night Shift position working from Sunday through Thursday starting at 7:00 PM and works until the job is finished. This job requires mandatory overtime and may be frequently asked to stay beyond their eight-hour shifts.

Voluntary Life Insurance and Disability coverage Required Qualifications At least 18 years of age High School Diploma/GED Ability to be active and on your feet for an entire shift Ability to frequently lift and carry 55 lbs., and push or pull up to 100 lbs. Must be comfortable using a computer for basic system usage requirements Additional Requirements Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules. Cooperates with all management and staff of GLWAS. Follows all MLCC rules and regulations, as they apply to the position. Use alcohol in a responsible manner when related to business activities. Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including a full Background Check, 10-Panel Drug Test, Physical Evaluation, and Agility(Lift) Test
