Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Windows Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-based systems and infrastructure. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability of our Windows environments.
Key Responsibilities: System Design and Implementation: Design, deploy, and configure Windows-based systems and applications in accordance with organizational requirements. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to enhance system performance and security. Develop and maintain system architecture documentation and configuration management plans. System Administration: Manage Windows servers, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS. Monitor system performance and conduct regular health checks to ensure optimal operation. Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security configurations. Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner. Provide technical support to end-users and IT staff for Windows-related issues. Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-platform and network issues. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect Windows systems and data. Ensure compliance with industry standards, policies, and regulations. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for Windows systems. Test and validate backup processes to ensure data integrity and availability. Restore data and systems as needed in the event of failure or data loss. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation for Windows systems, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, availability, and incidents for management review. Provide training and support for end-users on Windows functionalities and best practices. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Windows system engineering or administration. Proven experience with Windows Server environments and related technologies. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) and Active Directory. Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks. Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS). Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
