Summary This National Guard position is for a YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Position Description Number D2018000 and is part of the OH G1 Family Readiness, Ohio Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, implement, execute, and manage the events associated with the DoD Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) for National Guard Members and their families Responsibilities As a YELLOW RIBBON PROGRAM COORDINATOR, GS-0301-11, you will perform the following duties: 1. Manages the Yellow Ribbon Program for the State/Territory by planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing the National Guard Yellow Ribbon Programs in accordance with NGB policy and guidelines. Coordinates with state's Army and Air National Guard leadership to schedule events relating to the Alert, Pre-Mobilization, Mobilization, and the 30, 60, 90 Day Post-Deployment Reintegration, placing special emphasis to the Soldiers and Family Member's needs. 2. Serves as the Primary Point of Contact responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating event activities based on the needs of the deploying personnel and their families and standard course curriculum set forth by NGB. Responsible for requesting funding for events, and contracting conference facilities, lodging, meals, and professional onsite child care. Responsible for coordinating and partnering with other Federal, State, and Local Organizations for support with speakers, instructors, and support services. Course administrator serves as principal point of contact responsible for creating the agenda, preparing brochures, and the creation of other promotional materials for distribution to service members and families. 3. Continually evaluates course curriculum to identify opportunities for improvement and to better serve our Soldiers and Families. Evaluates and analyzes feedback from Soldiers and Families revising program objectives, visual aids, and handouts as required. Conducts monthly, or as needed, joint planning and coordination meetings with Army and Air National Guard DoD YRRP representatives to receive input, provide informational updates, discuss issues and initiatives, solidify joint implementation practices, various DoD Yellow Ribbon (ANG and ARNG) Events, and share best practices. Analyzes supporting organization's proposals to ensure quality of course content and cost effectiveness. 4. Serves as the principal point of contact regarding the Yellow Ribbon Programs and is charged with collaborating with various Local Organizations, State, and National Government Agencies for outreach opportunities, support services, training, policy interpretation, and research. 5. Coordinates with the Joint NGB DoD YRRP Management Office to develop tailored reintegration programs to meet the special needs of deploying Service Members and their families while maintaining the intent of the legislation governing the program. 6. Coordinates with the Program Leaders of the Family Assistance Center (FAC), Family Readiness Group (FRG), State Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), Small Business Administration, Education Offices, Military One Source, Youth Coordinator, Operation Military Kids, Military Family Life Consultants, Air/Army Chaplains, TRICARE, Personal Financial Consultants, Army/Air Chaplains, Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ) Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), TRICARE, NGB Funded Contractors, Army Reserve Combat Stress Teams, Veterans Administration Outreach, Local Veterans Centers, Public Health Services Organizations, as well as State and Local Organizations for assistance and support with Yellow Ribbon Program Events. 7. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required within one year of the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Ohio Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: WO1 to O4 Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations. Education Additional Information If serving under an incentive contract, termination of that incentive(s) will occur effective one day prior to your AGR, Permanent Military Technician, or Indefinite Military Technician start date.
