The Role: Accountant
As our Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, reporting directly to the General Manager and Directives. You'll ensure compliance with federal regulations, support the resolution of state quarterly reports and payments, and contribute to the company's growth and strategic decision-making. Working closely with a talented accounting team, you'll prepare financial statements, manage budgets, and provide critical financial insights.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting and month-end closing processes.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
Ensure compliance with federal contract requirements, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and other applicable regulations.
Prepare and submit financial reports to federal agencies as required.
Lead efforts to resolve state quarterly reports and payments.
Coordinate audits and ensure adherence to government audit standards.
Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparing, analyzing, and consolidating division budgets.
Develop financial forecasts and scenario analyses to support strategic planning.
Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Conduct cost analysis and monitor project financial performance.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
Proficiency in SAGE 50 accounting software is required.
Experience with state reporting and payment processes is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of GAAP and federal contract accounting (FAR a plus).
Bilingual (English & Spanish)
