Prepares and processes payroll and reviews time & attendance data for reasonableness and works with HR department and management to research and resolve any issues, including pay codes, earnings and overtime.
Coordinates the configuration of payment rules in the system and maintains an accurate up-to-date payroll system. Maintains employee payroll records and timesheet data for future references.
Ensures correct pay on salary changes, compensations, deductions, garnishments, bonus, and benefits for employees and performs all payroll accruals entries such as: salary, vacation, sick, and other leaves.
Manage and oversee the accrual process for employee vacation time.
Generate and review reports detailing the total hours worked by employees.
Reconciles payroll accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
Provides job training and mentors team members and supervisors as needed. Responds to payroll queries from employees in a timely manner.
Assists in external audits for payroll and timesheet related audit activities. Analyzes payroll issues and recommends corrective actions.
Ensure accurate reconciliation of financial deposits.
Prepare and submit 480 reports as required.
Ensure the accuracy of information in the CFSE payroll, seeking approval for filing as necessary.
Prepares the Workman's Compensation Annual Report and period analysis.
Maintains payment code related metrics, performs analysis and reporting as needed.
Ensures employee payment information is correct for state and federal agency compliance. Reviews filing data for: sales tax, payroll tax, including W2.
Manages and executes daily operation of accounts payable, cash receipts, general ledger and general accounting operations.
Performs accounts payable maintenance and processing for payments; process MRO's and Raw/Packaging material invoices/receiving reports, check request and reconciliations.
Prepares monthly closing activities of payroll & accounts payable areas.
Prepares daily cash report.
Responsible for the declarations of imports of Puerto Rico Treasury.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Associate Degree in Business Administration with concentration in accounting.
Minimum two (2) years' experience in cost accounting, inventory control and performance variances analysis in the manufacturing environment preferred.
In depth understanding/knowledge of:
GAAP's and GMP's
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point & Word).
Strong communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal)

Good interpersonal skills
The incumbent is accountable for the ongoing analysis of sales, cost of sales and gross margins by product. The Jr. Cost Accountant also monitors the production activity and records the inventory valuation, analyzes the variances and processes constraints to provide an appropriate level of costing information to management.
