About the Role The Company is in search of an Assistant Vice President Underwriter Territory Manager for General Casualty. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of underwriters with a focus on habitational, hospitality, lessor's risk, real estate, and other premises-driven risks. This role requires the ability to underwrite complex new and renewal submissions, make sound risk decisions, and maintain a balance between growth and profitability targets. The Assistant Vice President will also be involved in marketing the division, establishing relationships with wholesale brokers, and driving the use of technology to enhance business processes. Key responsibilities include negotiating underwriting terms, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring the team adheres to underwriting standards and regulatory requirements.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting general casualty lines and at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role. Existing relationships within the wholesale broker community and a proven track record of building effective relationships are essential. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a CPCU designation or other industry coursework is preferred. The role demands a candidate who can demonstrate strong leadership, mentoring, and training skills, as well as the ability to ensure team compliance with underwriting authority and state regulations. The position is remote, and the successful candidate can be based in various states across the US.
