Job Summary
Provides diagnostic services by assessing infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric hearing, balance, and communication disorders. Testing is mainly performed in outpatient testing environment, but there may be inpatient testing depending on test requirements of the patient.
Essential Functions
+ Administer and interpret with written report, full complement of audiometric testing including pure tone, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions, speech reception and discrimination, electronystagmography/video nystagmography, and auditory evoked potentials (with and without anesthesia).
+ Maintain State of Michigan Newborn hearing screening programs; and submit hearing screening results.
+ Assist in developing new clinical procedures for the department.
+ Maintaining testing equipment trouble shooting as needed and maintain supplies.
+ Maintains policy and procedures and provides continuing education and training to new staff and students.
+ Basic Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Detail oriented ability to work quickly, accurately and independently in a friendly environment. Ability to communicate detailed or technical information clearly, accurately and concisely Experience interacting with patients.
Qualifications
+ Preferred Doctorate Audiology OR
+ Required master's degree Arts or Science with a major in Audiology
+ 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical office setting with adult and pediatric patients. Preferred
+ CRT-Clinical Competency in Audiology Certification (CCC-A) - ASHA American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Upon Hire required
+ LIC-Audiologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
+ CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required
