This includes defining and following financial deadlines, establishing financial policies, and aligning financial goals with the organization's mission. The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying and managing financial risks, as well as securing the necessary resources and partnerships to advance the organization's goals.
Applicants for the Board Treasurer position at the company should have a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and management, as well as knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices. Proficiency in QuickBooks and donor management software is essential. The role requires a professional with experience in financial oversight and accountability, and a background in fundraising is a plus. A commitment to anti-racism, decolonization, and the values of the organization is also a minimum qualification. The Board Treasurer will serve as an active advocate and ambassador, participating in strategic planning and decision-making as part of the Executive and Finance Committees.
