The CFO will provide strategic leadership in the areas of finance, IT, and business administration, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values. This role is pivotal in advising the President and CEO, the Board of Directors, and senior management on financial matters, and actively participating in the organization's strategic planning process. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CPA preferred), a minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting, finance, and management, with at least 7 years in a senior executive finance role, and a strong background in nonprofit financial management.
Responsibilities for the CFO include developing and implementing financial and funding strategies, managing banking relations, overseeing compliance reporting, and leading the organization's budgeting and financial forecasting processes. The CFO will also be accountable for all tax filings, and risk management, and will be expected to create a culture of accountability that meets key performance indicators. Professional qualifications include experience with donation and grant tracking, cost allocation, and donor/funder engagement in a nonprofit setting. The successful candidate will be a collaborative, decisive, and proactive leader with a passion for the organization's mission, and will be adept at building positive relationships with external stakeholders. Strong technical skills in financial management software and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively are essential.
