About the Role The Company is in need of a Chief Financial Officer (CFO), who will also serve as the Controller, to take charge of the financial and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing and overseeing all financial aspects, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, payroll, purchasing, tax compliance, and financial reporting. This role involves leading the close process, external reporting to various stakeholders, being the primary contact for financial audits, and directing the annual budget process. The CFO will also be responsible for maintaining a system of controls to safeguard the company's assets and will be expected to lead, train, and organize the internal finance and accounting department.
Applicants for the CFO/Controller position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with a preference for those who have worked in a non-profit or educational setting. A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required, with a Master's degree and CPA being preferred qualifications. The role demands a professional with prior leadership or managerial experience in a similar financial environment, who can effectively lead the finance team and ensure the smooth operation of the finance department. The CFO will also be responsible for presenting financial reports to the board of directors, so strong communication and presentation skills are essential.
