Confidential Rn Director Don - Maternal Child Services ( Labor & Delivery ) - Hospital - Queens Ny

A New York City-based health services network is currently seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to one of their facilities on Long Island as their new Director of Nursing, Maternal Child Services. In this role, the Director of Nursing, Maternal Child Services will be responsible for providing daily operational oversight and coordination of the Department of Infection Prevention.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Nursing, Maternal Child Services will: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the maternal child services department, aligning nursing goals with organizational objectives Oversee the daily operations of labor and delivery, postpartum, NICU, and pediatric units, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and standards of care Lead recruitment, retention, and development efforts for nursing staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and excellence Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in maternal child nursing Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans to enhance quality and efficiency Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and communication to facilitate seamless patient care transitions and continuity of care Foster a culture of patient-centered care, ensuring that the unique needs of mothers, newborns, and pediatric patients are met with compassion and empathy Develop and manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and capital planning initiatives Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, medical staff, administration, and other stakeholders, advocating for the needs of the maternal child services department Perform other duties, as needed Qualifications: NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health or Science related field Bachelor's Degree in a related Science / Healthcare field 3+ years of experience in Maternal Child Services3+ years of experience in a management/supervisory position in Clinical / Patient Care Services or relevant Healthcare position Desired Skills: Master's Degree in Nursing Previous experience as a Nurse Director Your privacy is important to us.
