The successful candidate will be part of a culture that values innovation, a people-first approach, and a commitment to excellence. This role is pivotal in providing legal support for the global product development and commercialization activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and driving teams towards consensus on legal matters. The Corporate Counsel will work cross-functionally with R&D, product management, marketing, and regulatory teams, and will be responsible for drafting legal documents, providing legal guidance on product initiatives, and managing legal risks.
Applicants for the Corporate Counsel position should have a JD with excellent academic credentials and be licensed to practice law, with a preference for those registered as In-House Counsel in California. A minimum of 5-7 years' legal experience, including at least 2 years in a similar in-house role with a medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech company, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and experience with consumer and/or technology law is a plus. The role demands a professional with a working understanding of international, federal, and state regulations, and the ability to manage a diverse and substantial workload with a high level of integrity and sound judgment. Strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, growing organization are essential.
