The Director, Corporate Relations is responsible for raising substantial gift support from corporations and corporate foundations in support of Boston Children's Hospital. This role will develop and implement targeted programs to identify, cultivate and steward major corporate donors and work closely with senior leaders, high-level volunteers, board members, clinicians and scientists to secure major corporate gifts and sustain high-level corporate relationships.
This Director, Corporate Relations will:Develop and implement direct corporate gifts and grants for Boston Children's mission requiring significant relationship development and management.Manage a prospect pool of 75+ companies capable of making gifts of $100,000 and higher.Work with leadership to develop complex strategies to secure corporate gifts of $1M or more.Build and foster relationships with high-level corporate contacts, including Presidents, CEOs, board members, and others involved in making corporate contribution decisions.Creatively pursue connections to new prospects and current donors through research, strategic cold calls, letters, and visits.Build and nurture effective working relationships with BCH leadership, clinicians, and scientists to identify funding needs, prepare case for support, identify corporate prospects, solicit and close major corporate gifts.Develop compelling, donor-centered proposals and related collateral tailored to corporate audience, aligning donors' interests with hospital priorities.Continuously seek to better understand partner companies' business and corporate responsibility goals, strategies, programs, measurement, etc. proactively bring new ideas and opportunities for increased return on their support (with BCH).Develop and execute stewardship plans tailored to specific needs of each major corporate donor, involving follow-up with faculty and hospital staff recipients of funds. Includes all facets of public relations, branding, and visibility for corporation and BCH.Prepare and deliver presentations to key corporate partner stakeholders.Provide mentorship and consultation to team members as well as staff involved in other Trust activities related to corporate involvement.To qualify, you must have:BA degree plus 8 years of philanthropy experience, including significant experience in cultivating, soliciting, closing and stewarding six- and seven-figure gifts is required.Philanthropy experience in the corporate and foundations area is preferred.Must be able to clearly articulate information and ideas and demonstrate active listening skills to inspire diverse audiences through compelling, tailored messaging and storytelling that integrates data and emotional appeal.Strong relationship-building skills; ability to make connections with diverse groups and individuals, invest in getting to know and understand people and build trust quickly and authentically.Excellent analytical skills and ability to negotiate on issues that impact the Trust.Ability to prospect, engage and steward donors to encourage support to hospital initiatives.Writing skills to work on proposals, grants, stewardship reports and proposals for donor engagement.Strategic thinking skills to develop and implement targeted programs for donors.Boston Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
