My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead our PSC Sourcing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing PSC spend, building and maintaining strategic vendor relationships, minimizing risks, and enabling the achievement of our business objectives. As we continue our journey towards becoming a global, multi-product oncology company, the Director will be instrumental in forming strong partnerships with business leaders, providing guidance to the sourcing team, and overseeing the development of category sourcing strategies that leverage our growing purchasing power for greater efficiency, economies of scale, and strategic alliances.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Lead and guide the PSC Sourcing team in achieving my clients' business objectives by implementing comprehensive outsourcing strategies with strategic, preferred, and transactional vendors. Team Management: Oversee and distribute project assignments, ensuring successful outcomes while managing workload capacity and deliverables. Category Strategy Development: Provide oversight on the daily operations, including category strategy development, market intelligence research, vendor evaluation, negotiation, and contracting processes. Vendor Management: Maximize vendor relationships through negotiation of rate cards, discounts, performance-based incentives, and cost-saving measures. Support business units in managing vendor relationships and contract lifecycle. Financial Management: Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis to manage vendor financial accruals, forecasts, and reporting, ensuring financial efficiency and transparency. Operational Excellence: Support the development and operationalization of PSC Sourcing roles within the Legal Contract Lifecycle Management system, ensuring contracts are well-drafted, clear, and compliant with my client's standards. Supervisory Duties: Directly supervise Sourcing Managers, including hiring, performance reviews, and career development. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to the team. Qualifications: Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree with 13+ years of related experience, Master's degree with 11+ years, or Doctoral degree with 8+ years. Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry is required. 7+ years of supervisory/management experience is essential. Expertise in pharmaceutical R&D outsourcing, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management. Skills: In-depth knowledge of outsourcing concepts, financial processes, and industry regulations within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology sectors. Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and financial management skills. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficiency in SAP, Ariba, Tableau, and Contract Life Management systems (preferred Agiloft). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service and relationship management.
