Fabletics is looking for a Director, Sustainable Business Operations.
How do you fit in? Join us in a thrilling leadership role as the Director, Compliance and Sustainability. This is a critical position in our organization responsible for fostering collaboration across all disciplines to ensure a holistic approach to sustainability and compliance from production and supply chain to marketing. You will develop and execute a multi-year strategy and support growing and exciting brands in setting and exceeding their sustainability targets and goals.
The Director, Compliance and Sustainability will be responsible for the implementation of processes and tools, support the execution and project management of select Fabletics initiatives and/or programs and ensure our team operates as one connected, efficient, and engaged function. The ideal candidate will have experience in process development and implementation, project management, engagement, and communications.
You will play an essential role in the organization as we look to provide more transparency and disclosure for all key stakeholders.
Director, Compliance and Sustainability will report to VP of Supply Chain. What you will do: ComplianceManage ethical/social audits, and ensure follow-up on non-compliance issues.Stay up to date with relevant international regulations, standards, and best practices for product labeling and testing compliance.Drive cross-functional projects to support packaging compliance needs.Collaborate with teams across design, development, sourcing, production and legal to embed compliance requirements in the product development lifecycle.Lead efforts to identify and assess global product compliance regulations, including safety, quality, labeling, chemical restrictions, and environmental regulations.Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.Ensure product compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all target markets.Maintain a sound understanding of applicable local, state, federal and international laws, and regulations.Support the updating of vendor manual requirements for product labeling.Assist in updating product compliance policies, procedures, and resources.Prepare regular compliance program briefings.SustainabilityMaintain and implement social, environmental and compliance programs staying abreast of industry issues and new practices.Align global sustainability reporting with company goals, corporate reputation strategy, and business priorities.Coordinate data collection to support sustainability goal setting and reporting.Establish processes to measure and track progress quarterly providing reports to leadership.Identify sustainability and corporate responsibility risks and opportunities, aiding in risk management.Collaborate with brands to promote sustainability initiatives and develop strategic communications plans for stakeholders.Ensure timely and accurate responses to sustainability inquiries from investors, clients, NGOs, and other stakeholders.Work with the data owners to ensure understanding and provision of required data, maintaining a central data repository.Create and maintain industry and multinational company benchmarks by actively crawling sites for publicly available data on best practices, similar programs, and their results.Maintain and improve sustainability dashboards for functional leaders and the executive team.Support employee engagement efforts related to sustainability with regular communication through the company's intranet and educational sessions.Understand evolving regulations, standards, and frameworks to position the company effectively.Prepare regular sustainability reports and briefings.What you can bring: Passion for Impact: Deep commitment to transforming manufacturing practices to mitigate climate change impacts.Technical Expertise in Sustainability: Extensive knowledge of best-practice sustainability programs, with hands-on experience in implementing these programs effectively.Experience in ESG Standards: Comprehensive understanding and practical application of global standards related to socially responsible and ESG investing/reporting. Familiar with frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, UN Principles for Responsible Investing, Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, and Global Reporting Initiative.Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international product and packaging regulations, standards, and testing protocols, ensuring compliance and sustainability.Material and Production Insights: Expertise in material characteristics, construction techniques, and production processes, ensuring sustainability throughout the product lifecycle.Creative Problem Solving: Proven ability to approach problems methodically, anticipate challenges, and prioritize tasks to achieve effective solutions.Proactive and Accountable: A self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, able to excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Attention to Detail: High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without compromising on quality.Communication and Influence: Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at various levels and driving sustainable initiatives.Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, enabling the development and execution of effective sustainability strategies.Retail and Apparel Industry Experience: Over 10 years of experience in sustainability or product compliance within the retail or apparel industry, with additional experience in merchandising, production, vendor, and store operations.Storyboarding and Presentation Skills: Proficient in storyboarding and presenting, effectively conveying ideas and strategies to diverse audiences.Compensation & Total Rewards: At Fabletics, we believe work and life should fit together! The annual base salary range for this position is from $150,000-$170,000. The range provided includes the base salary that Fabletics expects to pay for the role. Offered base salary will be dependent on factors including the scope and complexity of the role, candidate's related work experience, subject matter expertise and work location.
